I am a 2007 graduate of the University of Georgia sporting two degrees (undegrad and grad Accounting FTW!) and a practicing CPA in the state of Georgia. The roots of my family on my father’s side can be tracked directly back to the Classic City. My grandmother was raised right off the railroad tracks east of downtown Athens and my great-grandfather’s final construction job before his retirement was laying the foundation for what would become Stegeman Coliseum. My family owns a restaurant on the Georgia side of Lake Hartwell and as such we are solidly split down the middle with half the family identifying with Clemson and the better half identifying with UGA.
I spent the five greatest years of my life (2002-2007) in the Classic City and don’t regret a thing about my time there (OK, I do regret eating at The Grill more than a handful of times late night).
One of my favorite quotes and I suppose it’s the years of listening to Munson (RIP) that have done it to me:
“You can’t be let down if you don’t expect the world” – 311, Flowing
construction jobs are great because they offer a high paying job which everyone of us can enjoy. sometimes it is tiring but the payment is worth it. :’*,`
